Katherine Lee Scroggs, 84, of Acworth, died Sunday, July 13, 2013. Graveside service is Wednesday, July 16, 2pm at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta. Mrs. Scroggs was preceded in death by her husband Johnny Scroggs and her parents Word and Katherine Campbell.
A native and lifelong resident of Georgia, one of Katherine’s fondest memories was driving the horse and buggy into Marietta. Her working career included being a Sears Message Girl, her first job, a Candy Stripper at the Atlanta Hospital, and a Hairdresser at the original downtown Rich’s where the pink pig originated.
Survivors include her son – Ronnie and wife Julie Thomason and two granddaughters – Melissa Thomason and Leah Jordan. Visiting hours are on Tuesday from 5 – 9pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw.
