Kathryn Gerchman Bettis, age 91, of Kennesaw, Georgia passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021. Kathryn was born March 29, 1930 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Bettis was the first woman police woman in the Kennesaw Police Department, when she was hired in 1969. She loved her grandchildren and they were her life. She would always say that her children and her grandchildren would come first always. Kathryn helped raise her all of her grandchildren. She loved the Lord and was a sweet lady. Kathryn loved to crochet and was an active member of New Salem Baptist Church.
Kathryn is survived by daughter Susan Ruth Towns (Ted Towns); and daughter Cheryle Hoffman (James Hoffman); daughter-in-law Debbie Gerchman; Step son George Bettis; sister Shirley Ethel Martin.
9 grandchildren - April, Hoyt, Jimmy, Carl Lou, Ted, Jennifer, Jeff, Jason and Jessica.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her first husband Karl George Gerchman; second husband George Frank Bettis; daughter Gisele Louise Dart and son Michael Edward Gerchman.
A public visitation for Kathryn will be held Friday, May 14, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. A celebration of life will occur Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 3:00 PM, at New Salem Baptist Church. A burial will occur at New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
