Kevin Thomas Sheehan, age 51, of Kennesaw, Georgia passed away peacefully on Monday, August 10, 2020 with his sons and wife nearby. He passed after a long and courageous battle with Stage IV Colon Cancer.
Kevin was born January 22, 1969 to Barbara Sheehan and Thomas Sheehan. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Kevin was proud to be an Eagle Scout and mentored several other young men to the goal of Eagle Scout. Kevin enjoyed traveling for work or pleasure, the only reason he stopped traveling was because of the pandemic. In true Kevin fashion, he completed his last airplane trip the day before the country was shut down. Kevin loved his job as a Risk Advisory Solutions Partner at KPMG, LLP. He continued to work full-time during his illness, and truly loved mentoring his staff and others. He was an active band parent volunteer at Kennesaw Mountain High School. He was part of an amazing men’s bible study group at North Metro Church. During his illness he became an active volunteer at the American Cancer Society and sat on planning committee for the annual Hope Ball. He also was an encouragement to many facing colon cancer and spent time supporting them on Blue Hope Nation. Because of his positive outlook, the Colorectal Cancer Alliance selected him as one of their 2019 “Ambashadors” at the Blue Hope Bash in Washington, DC. He never stopped believing in a cure, and willing participated in two trials at Emory in order to advance colon cancer research. He had a strong faith in God’s plan for him and often ended his conversations about his health with “God’s got it!”
Kevin is survived by his spouse, Tanya Sheehan; sons Ryan Sheehan, Craig Sheehan, Mark Sheehan, father Thomas Sheehan, mother Barbara Sheehan, sister Kelly Salema (Dennis). There will be a Celebration of Life Service for Kevin in October.
Contributions in Kevin's memory may be made to American Cancer Society; Colorectal Cancer Alliance, North Metro Church, Marietta, GA; or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
