Leonard David Brown was born on April 30, 1929 to Norris Myles Brown and Josephine Lampe Brown in Tarrytown, New York. After graduating from local schools, he graduated from Bowling Green University with a degree in business and then enlisted in the Air Force during the Korean War. He continued his education in law school at Georgetown University in Washington and graduating from Western Reserve law school.
It was while in the service that David met the love of his life, Myrtle Carroll to whom he was married for 58 years. After marriage, the couple settled in Hudson, Ohio where David became a commercial real estate developer. He took a historic lumber mill (Turners Mill) and iron works building and developed them into a commercial property keeping the historic flavor and design of the buildings.
As well as leaving his beloved wife, Myrtle, David is survived by his 3 daughters, Nan Goebel (Mark) of Naples, Florida; Cynthia Glazier (Scott) of Jacksonville, Florida; and Judie Wilkinson (John) of Kennesaw, Georgia and his adored grandsons, Blake Goebel (Emily), David Goebel, Andrew Glazier, Nick Glazier and Wyatt Wilkinson.
Services will be Saturday, August 31 at 11:00 a.m. at Mars Hill Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
