Lou Ann Kates

Mrs. Lou Ann Kates, age 62, of Acworth, GA., passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016. Mrs. Kates was born on April 13, 1954 in Freehold, New Jersey, a daughter of the late Lou Schneider and Ann Williams Schreiber.

Mrs. Kates was an Administrative Assistant to various ministers at Mt. Paran Church of God for over twenty years. Her heart and desire for missions carried her all around the world, from Romania and Russia, to South Africa and Israel. In her spare time she enjoyed jogging and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs. There wasn’t a person who came in contract with Lou-Ann who did not immediately become her family; she loved everyone she met and was an immediate positive influence. Her legacy was no doubt the individuals she brought together to serve other, just as she did.

Mrs. Kates is survived by her loving husband of twenty eight years, Jeff Kates; one daughter Cori Kates of Kennesaw; two brothers, Michael Schneider of Vermont and Ernie Schneider of Mexico City; one sister, Elizabeth Schlesinger of New Jersey; and several extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at eleven-thirty in the morning on Friday, December 30, 2016 at Mt. Paran Church of God North in Marietta with Jeremy Isaacs officiating.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from ten o’clock in the morning until the time of service at Mt. Paran North on Friday.
