She was a graduate of Berry College and later earned her Masters from Georgia State University. She was retired from the Cherokee County School System with 30 years of service having taught 4th and 6th grade at Woodstock Elementary School.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, William T. (Mr. Bill) Turner; children, Tim Whitmore, Sharon Lynn Whitmore, Billy Turner, Tammy Sutton; grandchildren, John Turner, Chris Sutton, Kimberly Sutton, Harrison Whitmore, Claudia Goettel, William Alexander Turner; 6 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 PM in the chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home with Rev. Ric Cadle officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Ridge Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends between the hours of 6 until 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
