Margaret Ellouise Roach was born on November 28, 1924 to her parents Homer and Irene Stewart of New Hope, Alabama. Margaret spent many years in her home state before moving to Georgia with her family in 1964. A caretaker at heart, she would spend 5 years working as a nurse’s aide at Kennestone Hospital, later working in the cafeteria at Wheeler High School. After many years of being a hard worker, she would retire at 80, to help care for her daughter and family.
Outside of work, Margaret found joy in various hobbies. She was skilled at crocheting, seemingly capable of making most anything including blankets, tablecloths, and more. She was also especially fond of photography and capturing the beauty of nature. Margaret adored the outdoors and loved photographing the mountains, rivers, and native wildlife. More so, she took pleasure in boat rides along the Alabama river and enjoyed gazing out at the flowers and birds, her favorites including hummingbirds and cranes. Margaret was a faithful member of Holt Road Baptist Church in Marietta, GA as a faithful believer of her Lord Jesus Christ. She will be remembered as a caring, loving woman with an outstanding sense of humor. She adored spending much time with her family. Margaret was a reliable rock for her family to lean on.
Margaret is preceded in death by her husband Jeston Roach, daughter Jennifer Wonnacott, parents Homer and Irene Stewart, Sister Frances Southerland, and her brothers Homer Ray, and Arthur Chapman Stewart. She is survived by her step-daughter Diane Blalock (John), son Stewart Roach, (Wendy), daughters Linda Stewart (Tom) and Kay Sasser (Mark), and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
