

Luz was special in many ways. She was a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. To family and friends who knew her best, Luz will be remembered as an exceptional role model, loving, kind and generous. She had many talents, including cooking, sewing, knitting, making jewelry, and other crafts. As a self-made chef and culinary expert, she enjoyed cooking for everyone and never left anyone with an empty stomach. She was a great entertainer; she always did her best to please and care for everyone. Luz, also known fondly as “Mama Luz”, was a mother figure to many people. Luz’s faith was very important to her. She was a member of the Catholic Church and prayed the rosary daily. Luz has touched the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories.
Luz is preceded in death by her husband Antonio Oda. She is survived by her daughters, Lucy Nicholson, Gisella Cotter; sons, Luis Oda, Peter Oda; sisters, Lindaura Zanabria, Blanca Tang; 9 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends for a visitation and rosary on Sunday, December 29, 2019 from 2pm until 6pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 30, 2019 at 10:30am at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church. Following services, the burial will take place at Pine Ridge Memorial Park.
