Marjorie Veronica Prince, Mommy, Grandma, Auntie Madge to those closest to her, passed away in her home surrounded by loved ones on December 16th, 2019. Marjorie was the first born child produced by the union of the late Bertram Scott and the late Iris James Adamson on February 23rd, 1943, in Kingston, Jamaica. On July 30, 1966, she married her faithful, loving, committed husband, Allan MacArthur Prince, who remained steadfast at her side for the past 60 years plus. Of this wonderful marriage, six lovely daughters were brought into this world: Anita R. Prince-Hill, Jacqueline C. Prince-Jenkins, Julian D. Prince-Murphy, Dianne I. Prince-Munroe, Nicole A. Prince-Williams, and Charlene F. Prince.
Marjorie was affectionately known by many as Madge. She was a woman loved by everyone she knew - all warmly welcomed into her home and into her heart. With her signature red hair, bangles and bright colored wardrobes, she was an elegant, glamorous presence who was a beautiful sight to behold. Marjorie was a wonderful wife, a great mother, proud grandmother, nurturing great grandmother, loyal sister, loving aunt, exceptional sister-in-law, caring cousin and a true friend. She was in all forms, The Matriarch.
Family was her strength. She built strong traditions and instilled family values which extended beyond her immediate family, sisters and brother. Arms always open for those in need, she took extraordinary lengths to extend her kindness and had a way of making everyone feel like family. One of the many great things about Madge was how she loved to care for others through cooking their favorite meals. Her other past-times included decorating, shopping for unique finds, beading, sewing, and loved hosting and entertaining others. Marjorie graduated from Wilfred Academy of Beauty and was a licensed Master Cosmetologist for over 30 years. She owned several salons throughout her career and built a loyal client base.
