Marlene Luense, 79, of Acworth, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013. Funeral service is Tuesday, June 4, 11 am at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw. Burial will follow at Rolling Hills Memory Gardens in Acworth.
A native of Iowa, Mrs. Luense had lived in Georgia for forty years. Preceded in death her husband Cecil, they both were very active with the American Legion Post 42 in Cartersville and Marlene served as Treasure for the Women’s Auxiliary. An avid bowler with the Cobb Women’s Bowling Association and served a term as their President; Mrs. Luense was elected into the CWBA Hall of Fame in 1993.
Those who survive are her sons – Dennis Luense of Austell, Richard Luense of Cartersville, and Roger Luense of Acworth; brother – Gary Kaiser of Winchester, VA; sister Cleo of Texas; 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
The family will receive friends Monday, June 3 from 6 until 9pm at the funeral home.
