Martha Mary Krueger Stahlman

Martha Mary Krueger Stahlman, 81, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on June 10, 2026. She was born on March 21, 1945 in Oconomowoc Wisconsin. Marty was the daughter of Henry and Mary Krueger. Throughout her life, she was deeply cherished for her compassionate spirit and the thoughtful, generous ways she cared for others with faith and devotion.

Marty’s early years were shaped by life on the dairy farm with her family. She attended Tamarack Primary School, a one-room schoolhouse , and later, Arrowhead High School. She went on to Wartburg College in Iowa where she graduated with honors with a degree in social work. Following college, her first job as a social worker was counseling teenage girls. She met her husband, Steve Stahlman, through his grandmother, with whom Marty was living with at the time.

Marty and Steve started Georgia Medical Recourses, a home healthcare company. Through hard work and sacrifice, they ran this business for over 25 years. Throughout their 58 years of marriage they were devoted to family. Marty was the mother of Lance, Brent and Laura.

Marty found joy in spending time with her children, playing piano, swimming, and reading. Her love of books remained constant; when her sight diminished, she continued listening to audiobooks.

Marty’s faith was lived out in steadfast service. She taught Sunday school for over 20 years at First United Lutheran Church in Kennesaw, GA, offering guidance and inspiration. She also started a Care & Share program visiting people who were home bound to pray with them and offer communion. She was involved with Stephen Ministries and also started several Prayer Chains, just other examples of her kind-hearted generosity and her attentive concern for others in need.

Marty and Steve also shared a love of traveling. They visited countries all over the world with friends, including Russia, Scotland, Ireland and Germany. They enjoyed many trips to Mexico and the Caribbean with their family.

Marty was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mary Krueger, brother John Krueger, sister Judy Costyn and son Lance. She is survived by her husband Steve Stahlman; son Brent Stahlman (Doug); daughter Laura Austin (Roy); Sister Janet McCauley (Mark); brother Doug Krueger (Mary); beloved dog Rosie and many nieces and nephews.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we take comfort in the many beautiful memories she leaves behind and in the knowledge that her love will continue to guide us. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
