Marty Buchanan

Marty Buchanan, a beloved and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on October 30, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on February 19, 1955, Marty was a kind-hearted and hard-working man who touched the lives of many. He was a resident of Kennesaw, Georgia, and had a profound love for the community of Marietta, where he worked for the city.

Marty proudly served in the Air Force and was a dedicated husband for 55 years. He cherished spending time with his family, especially during vacations to Florida. Marty had a fondness for watching people sing karaoke and enjoyed NASCAR.

He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Garren Buchanan, his daughters, Brandy Buchanan and Candy Carroll, and his sons, Danny Buchanan (Wanda) and Billy Jack Buchanan (Karrie). Marty was a proud grandfather to Madison Carroll, Cody Buchanan, Dylan Buchanan, Chase Gaydon, Tanner Gaydon, and Drew Carroll. He is also survived by his brother, Scott Buchanan, and several nieces and nephews.

Marty was preceded in death by his father, Roy Hicks Buchanan, his mother, Barbara Joan Buchanan, and his brothers, Danny Buchanan and Michael Buchanan.

The family is planning a pending celebration of life gathering to honor Marty's memory. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
