Marvin (Poppie) was born on January 29, 1959. He went home to be with the Lord and his wife Peggy Lee Maschke on October 27, 2026. Poppie was survived by his daughter Heather Lee Brown (Ryan Andrew Brown) their children Isaac Andrew Brown (12) and Evan Michael Brown (5), and his son Christopher Michael Maschke (Ciara Dawn Maschke) their children Christopher Adler Maschke (10), and Maeva Dawn Maschke (3M). Poppie is also survived by his Mother Glenna Joan Maschke, his Aunt Vicki Sue Larrabell, and two sisters: Karen Joan Maschke and Kathy Lynn Maschke. His Father Marvin Leroy Maschke, his Uncle Leeroy (Spoke) Larrabell, and his brother Michael John Maschke are with him in Heaven.
Poppie married later in life to Kellie Marie Clements. Her children, Jennifer Marie Widener (Brent Nathan Widener) and their children Kathryn Marie Widener and Allison Grace Widener; her son James Edward Clements (Emily Paris) and their son Cooper James Clements; and her son John Joseph Clements (Maddy Mariah Lebeouf) all loved him dearly and were still a big part of his life.
Poppie had a true love for life and served many family and friends on a daily basis. He found joy in helping and connecting with people. Outside of family and friends he loved the game of tennis. Starting in high school he quickly learned the game and has never put the racket down since. His latest partner, son-in-law Ryan, played with Poppie at his last match. And by the way they were winning!
Poppie had a long career in insurance, and he owned his own company, Financial Consulting Services. He was semi-retired and over the past few years sharpened his skills as a writer. He has many different pieces of writing and a couple of novels finished. His dream was to get published and share his stories with others. We will let you know once his books are ready for your shelves!
Poppie had several close friends. Mike Collver was a dear friend from high school and a former roommate. George Fry and Michael Scott were former co-workers. Michael Scott and Poppie connected daily to talk about everything under the sun. Eric Martin was also a tennis partner and dear friend. He loved to sail and be on the water with his friend Bruce Swan.
Poppie loved being with his 91-year-old mother on Sundays to watch sports and take her to play golf! He was close with both of his sisters Karen and Kathy but most of all loved being with his grandchildren.
Poppie will be dearly missed, but we are all so grateful for the time we had with him. Join us in celebrating his life of serving others and bringing joy to those around him.
