Mary "Cathie" Catherine Bachl

Mary Catherine “Cathie” Bachl, age 83, of Kennesaw, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 7, 2025. Cathie was born in Hartford, Connecticut, to parents Mary Clark Bachl and Francis Benedict Bachl, and was the second of five siblings: Robert W. Clark, David Francis Bachl, Janet Ann Bachl, and Thomas A. Bachl. She spent her childhood years in Glastonbury, Connecticut. She began her religious journey as a nun after graduating high school, then transitioned to a career in pediatric nursing in Marietta, Georgia. Her extensive pediatric knowledge helped countless families throughout her career, driven by her unwavering love for babies and children.

Cathie is loved by many, a cherished “Auntie”, a loyal friend, and a fun shopping partner. She never met a stranger: a devout Christian and faithful member of Summit Baptist Church. Cathie lived out her faith as a committed prayer warrior. She often wrote heartfelt notes of encouragement and freely gave to those in need, always willing to share what she had to help others. She will be dearly missed by her surviving nieces, Christina Bachl and Courtney Dehbi, her friends, and her extensive church family, which has gone above and beyond to support and care for her. Cathie is truly loved and will be missed by everyone who has had the privilege of knowing her.

A celebration of her life will be held at Summit Baptist Church, 4310 Moon Station Lane NW, Acworth, Georgia, on Saturday, September 13, at 2:00 p.m., with Dr. James Slick officiating the service.
