Mary Wood Cardwell (nee Jamieson) of Woodstock, Georgia went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, September 25, 2026. Mary was born on February 19, 1937 in Renfrew, Scotland and the daughter of the late John and Ann Jamieson. She immigrated to Toronto, Canada as a teen where she met the love of her life and future husband William (Bill) Edward Cardwell. They were married December 29, 1956 and spent 62 happy years together until his death in 2018. They moved to Georgia in 1966 and called Marietta home for many years. After having 4 children, Mary went back to college as an adult and graduated in 1985 from Kennesaw College as a Registered Nurse using her talents to care for patients in both cardiology and kidney dialysis. In later years, Mary enjoyed traveling the globe with her husband Bill and created many lasting memories. Mary will be remembered for her beauty, sense of style, love of travel, and positive outlook on life. She was always singing and had a song for everything. She loved her family deeply and was happiest when they were “warm, cozy, and together”. She loved to crochet and all of her children and grandchildren have been the recipients of beautiful heirlooms to remember her by including baby layettes and custom afghans. Along with her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Cardwell, and daughters, Maureen Abbott and Andrea Cardwell. Mary leaves behind to carry on her legacy her children Scott Cardwell (Pam), Michelle Bugbee (John),10 wonderful grandchildren, and 7 precious great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, GA 30152 on October 2, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm. A graveside service will take place at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park, 1861 Dallas Hwy, Marietta, GA 30064 on October 2, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
