Rest in peace brother. Really going to miss you. Who is going to tell me the Falcons and Braves will never do anything? I'm sure youre having fun causing a ruckus in heaven. Love you man.  Mr and Mrs Ferna, Justin, and Brian: Words cannot describe how sorry I am for your loss. The one bit of comfort I can try to bring is I dont know if Ive ever met anyone who loved his family like Matt. He will surely be missed.

Dearest members of the ferna family and friends my heart ached with the burden of the bad news of beloved matt passing. No words can express the condolences and prayers sent amongst you during this time of grief. All i can say is i have known matt for over 2 decades and he was a brother not only a friend to me remembering the times in massapequa with him from the sleep overs, to school, to being bothered by justin and us bothering bryan haha nothing but good memories and it is through these memories he lives through and in that peace can be found. Mr and Mrs ferna it was you who made these memories possible and i thank you from the bottom of my heart and love you for all you have done. Matt is now looking upon us protecting us and is at peace in paradise. Love you matt you may be gone but in no way will you ever be forgotten. Rest in Paradise brother

I'll always remember Matthew as an adorable little boy, handsome teenager, and caring adult.  We always loved his "back home" visits to Massapequa and his reminiscing about growing up on Lakeshore Drive.  Matthew had a "gift of gab" and we are grateful he came by to see us and share his memories and stories with us.

Matt and I sort of lost touch over the last few years, but he left a lasting impression on me.
He was a very kind, sweet and funny person and he will be dearly missed.

Dear Ferna Family,

My heart broke when I learned of Matt's passing.  In spite of the sadness, I am encouraged to know that he is in a much better place, fully restored and at peace.  Even in his short life there are no shortage of memories; Matt always had a way of making a statement and making you laugh. 

After having the privilege of sharing nearly a decade of my life with the family I must say: Teri and Frank, you are the greatest parents anyone could ever ask for and you provided an amazing life for Matt while he was here on this earth.  You both loved and supported Matt through all the many good times and bad.  He was incredibly blessed to have you as his parents and to have such an amazing support system through his entire family.  Bryan and Justin; you are both caring, loving and supportive and he was so fortunate to have you as brothers.  

My thoughts and prayers are with each of you and may the Lord give all of you supernatural strength and peace during this difficult time.
