Michael, better known as ‘Big Mike’, was an absolute joy and delight to be around. His bright infectious personality made everyone he came in contact with an instant friend. In 2014, Big Mike graduated from River Ridge High School in Woodstock, Georgia. Following his high school career, Big Mike worked as a Shift Manager with Starbucks for the last four years. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cards, video games, and listening to music. During football season he could be found cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers and in basketball season, the Golden State Warriors. Big Mike was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend; he will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Along with his parents, Big Mike is survived by his four sisters, Jessica Vicioso, Janelle Nightingale, husband Jake, Beatriz Portes, and Maria G. Vicioso; one nephew, Jayce Perez; maternal grandparents, Carmen Almonte and Manuel Portes; paternal grandmother Estelvina Vicioso; uncle, Manuel Portes and aunt, Maria D. Portes; twelve paternal aunts and uncles; girlfriend, Gwyn Allen; and several extended family members and friends also survive. Big Mike is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Bievenido Vicioso.
A visitation with the family of Big Mike will take place from four o’clock in the afternoon until eight on Monday, September 24, 2018 at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home.
A memorial service for Mike will be held at ten o’clock in the morning on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the St. Teres’s Episcopal Church, 5725 Fords Road NW Acworth, GA 30101.
