Morris Max Missry was born to Max Morris and Pauline Missry on June 23, 1939 in Brooklyn, New York. Morris was a very sentimental soul who had an intense love for his family and could commonly be heard mentioning his father, mother, sisters and brother in conversation. With a heart so capable of love, it is easy to see why he and his equally comical wife Carol were inseparable for 53 years of love and friendship. From Morris and Carol's union came two daughters; Alison Gilbrook (John) and Valerie Best (Jason). Not only did The Missry's bear children, they were successful entrepreneurs of The Gift Galleries from 1986 to 2022. The Gift Galleries was an accomplishment which Mr. Missry was very proud of.
Being a New Yorker, Morris enjoyed sports, mainly baseball and The Yankee's were his team of choice. However, beyond sports Mr. Missry enjoyed walking, watching Cowboy movies and MASH with his beloved wife, and making funny Tik Tok videos with his daughter Alison, where they would laugh at his technical struggles with devices. Morris was quite dapper when it came to his appearance, and enjoyed all holidays immensely which allowed more time with loved ones. As a family The Missry's enjoyed playing in leaf piles and were a light crossroads between Judaism and Christianity. He also enjoyed a good game of chance, and scratch offs were a normal part of life for this fellow. It must be mentioned that Morris was very romantic and actually made time to pick Roses and give them to his sweat heart regularly.
Though Mr. Missry was not a college graduate, he possessed the best kind of intelligence, wit and common sense. If you ask his family, they will tell you the man was a math wiz and had a great memory. In his youth, Morris tried out for the Cardinals Baseball Team but ended up going to the Army to serve his country instead. Morris' time in service was short because after three years due to his mothers illness, and being as close as he was he had to leave due to such a hardship.
Morris Max Missry lived a life of hard work, devoted love and care with a hint of superstition. He leaves behind his wife; Carol Ann Missry, two daughters Alison Gilbrook (John) and Valerie Best (Jason), two sisters; Yvonne Givens( Keith), Brenda Missry Robert, eight grandchildren; Katie, Sarah, Joseph, Nicholas, Thomas, Johnathan, Laura Grace, Collin; three great grands; Mackenzie, Jackson, Paylan and a predeceased brother; Robert Massey, and sister and brother in law, Mollie Levy( Stan).
A Memorial Service for Morris M. Missry will be held Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, Georgia 30152.
