Myra J. Fowler, 89, of Kennesaw, Georgia, passed away on September 26, 2026. Born Myra Chappell on December 11, 1936, at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, Myra carried forward a life marked by steady devotion to family, faith, and the quiet grace of showing up for others in meaningful ways.
Myra was the daughter of Luther Eugene Chappell and Juanita Chappell (Johnston). She was the second oldest of four children and graduated from Campbell High School, beginning a life shaped by diligence and constancy.
After school, Myra went on to work in a dedicated fashion for Lockheed until retirement, a testament to her reliability and commitment across the years.
Myra met Bob, and they were married and would have a daughter, Sheryl. Myra and Bob shared a relationship rooted in love of God, family, and friends. Together they loved to work in the yard, taking great pleasure in keeping everything well maintained. Myra also enjoyed getting together with friends and traveling in retirement.
Myra was a member of Roswell Street Church, where she worshipped with the senior women’s Sunday school class. She also went on mission trips and was a member of the BSF Bible study community.
Myra created traditions during her daughter’s career She would put together a special senior dinner that became a grand fest, complete with top-shelf home-cooked food with elegant presentation- an expression of her thoughtful hospitality and the warmth she brought to the lives around her. Myra was a kind and loving person who will be missed dearly. As a former player so eloquently stated “ Myra only had one biological child but she touched the lives of hundreds of young people.
