

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday at Kennesaw First United Methodist Church with remains placed instate at 1 PM. Rev. Wallace Wheeles will officiate. Interment will follow at Kennesaw City Cemetery.
Nan was born in Eton, Ga., one of 4 children of Edythe Mae and Harvey A. King, Sr. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years Homer Roy Cobb whom she married in Ball Ground and then moved to Marietta in 1952. Nan worked in the Cobb County School system for over 27 years, retiring in 1993, spending the last 23 years at Awtrey Middle school with Principal Bill Hamilton. She was a member of Kennesaw First United Methodist Church where her father served as Associate Pastor in his retirement. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a special love for her best friend, James Harris of Jasper for the past 16 years. Nan loved her cat Prissy, plants, fishing, antiques & her special friends at the Yah -Yah Club.
Survivors include: 3 children, daughter, Nancy Smith and predeceased son-in-law, Richard Sammy Smith, daughter, Anne Meek and son-in-law, Stan Meek, son, John Cobb and Kathy Wilson; grandchildren, Tommy Meek, Brian Smith, Jason Meek and Erin Horner; great-grandchildren, Tucker Smith, Andrew and Olivia Meek, Caitlin, Jesse and Grace Horner; sisters, Nell Anderson and Robbie Patty; along with many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Harvey King.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kennesaw United Methodist Church, American Cancer Society, or the Yah-Yah Club of Acworth.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm-5:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
