Norma Griffin, age 95, died on Tuesday January 27, 2026 at Brickmont Assisted Living in Woodstock, Georgia. Norma was born to her parents, Arthur and Josie Shankles, on May 8, 1930 and was the youngest of six children. Norma Grew up on a farm in Sand Mountain, Alabama and is preceded in death by her husband of almost 70 years, Wayne Griffin. Together, they had one daughter, Sheron Griffin Mumaugh (Al). She retired from Cobb County in 1986 where she worked as a Clerk in the Tax Assessor's Office. Upon retirement she took up the game of golf, and was a member of the Canterbury and Pine Tree Country Club. Norma build her home herself in the mid seventies on this very same Canterbury Golf Course. Family was very important to her and she loved spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her daughter and many nieces and nephews.
