

Patricia "Pat" Elaine Marcinko went to be with the Lord on June 19, 2026, at the age of 82. Born June 16, 1944, she was known as Gigi to her beloved grandchildren. She was born in Asheville, North Carolina, to the late Stonewall Jackson “Jack” and Bertha “Buttons” Godfrey.
Pat was an exceptional woman with a heart of gold. She dedicated her life to the Lord and serving others. Pat was a lifelong caretaker, she cared for her parents, husband, and most importantly her grandchildren. Her six grandchildren were her world, and she cherished every moment that she spent with them.
Pat was a member of Canton First Baptist Church for 36 years. She was also a very active volunteer in the Cobb Women’s Club, the American Red Cross, and she served as a Docent at the Governor’s Mansion. Pat also taught adult literacy to those in need, as well as volunteering in numerous school and church activities.
Pat will be known for her generous spirit, servant heart, hard work, and compassion. She will be missed by all that had the honor of knowing her.
Pat is survived by her children; Kristen Sandberg (Brian) and John Scott Marcinko (Brandy), brother, William “Bill” Godfrey (Janet), sister; Mary Farrell, grandchildren, Anneliese, Jonathan, Ammie, Sarah Grace, Annabelle, and Scarlett.
Pat is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, George “John” Marcinko Jr.
A visitation will be held at Kennesaw First Baptist Church, 2958 N Main St, Kennesaw, Georgia, on June 27, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Her Memorial Service will follow at Kennesaw First Baptist Church, 2958 N Main St, Kennesaw, Georgia, on June 27, 2026, at 11:00 am.
