Patricia Pearl Martin, of Atlanta Georgia, born December 6, 1939 passed away on June 25th, 2018. Pattie went to sleep peacefully to be with the Lord and other family members awaiting her homecoming including her parents, sister Jane Carter, brother in-law Jay Carter and her nephews Mark and Joel Carter. She was the youngest of five daughters born to Claude and Sue Martin and is survived by sisters Julia Wong, Celestia Long, Susan Howell, and two brother in-laws, John Long and Jesse Howell. Other family members include 6 nieces (Bonnie, Mary Jane, Beverly, Deborah, Valerie and Cheryl) and 7 nephews (Robert, Michael, David, Read, Gerald, Richard and Charles). Pattie lived in the Atlanta area all her life and earned her Associates degree from DeKalb Community College in August 1984. She was employed by Ohio Casualty Insurance Company (now known as Liberty Mutual) for most of her career as an insurance analyst until she retired in August 1999. Pattie loved to meet new people and enjoyed traveling to new places and frequently vacationed with her extended family in Florida. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stone Mountain, near her home in Lithonia where she delighted in worshipping and singing with her fellow believers. Pattie will be truly missed but will continue to live in our memories as a beloved sister, aunt and cousin to her extended family and as a friend to so many others.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 from 5-8pm with Funeral services on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 11am at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw, Georgia. The Reverend Kenneth G. Magness will preside over the services, followed by internment at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
