Rainer Ekkehard Kaufmann, age 78, of Kennesaw, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021. Rainer was born June 11, 1942 in Saalfeld, Germany to Maria Richter Kaufmann and Otto Kaufmann. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Rainer is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dolores Minch Kaufmann; son Christopher Kaufmann; brother Jurgen Kaufmann, sister-in-laws Margaret Kaufmann and Barbara Kaufmann; granddaughters Ashley Kaufmann, Jessica Kaufmann, grandson Justin Kaufmann, nieces Alison, Christina, Karin and nephews Kurt and Charles.
Rainer was preceded in death by his parents Otto and Maria Kaufmann; brother Otto Kaufmann.
A visitation for Rainer will be held Wednesday, February 17, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, Georgia 30152. All are welcome to attend but the family ask that you remember your masks and practice safe distancing.
A memorial mass will be Thursday, February 18, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Cathedral of Christ the King, 2699 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30305. If you plan to attend the service, please notify the family before hand because space is limited.
Burial will be at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA. at a later date for the immediate family only.
