

Richard Earl Tinsley Jr., beloved resident of Kennesaw, Georgia, passed away on January 12, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on March 3, 1941, Richard was a cherished individual whose life was marked by a profound passion for cars and racing.
Rick, as he was affectionately known, dedicated 25 years to building and racing cars, including 18 years alongside his wife, competing in national events. His love for speed and precision was not just a hobby but a significant part of his life, particularly through his involvement in autocross with the SCCA. Beyond the racetrack, Rick found joy in spending time at the beach and indulging in historical fiction, a testament to his diverse interests.
Professionally, Rick's career spanned two decades from 1960 to 1980 with the Burroughs Corporation, where he specialized in computer installation and repair. His role as a regional manager involved overseeing the installation, repair, and upkeep of room-sized computers used in businesses and banks, showcasing his technical expertise and leadership.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Sr. and Kathleen Wright Tinsley, both of Huntington, West Virginia. The family relocated to West Palm Beach, Florida, when Rick was 12 years old, marking the beginning of his journey that would eventually lead him to a life filled with speed, technology, and cherished memories.
Rick is survived by his wife of 39 years, Margaret Bryan Tinsley, son, David Tinsley (Gail) and their children, and son Devon Tinsley and his family of Loxahatchee, ; Amanda Tinsley Robbins of Citrus Springs, Florida, David Tinsley of Citrus Springs Florida, and Heather Tinsley Gibson of Tampa, Florida, daughters, Debbie, Denise, and Stacey Kirk, along with several grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Rick is also preceded by his son, Robert Tinsley, who leaves behind his daughter, Samara Tinsley of Citrus Springs, Florida.
