Richard Lee Trainer

Richard Lee Trainer, age 89, of Hogansville, Georgia passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021. Richard was born October 18, 1931 in Mountville, Ohio to Frances Triplett Trainer and Roy Trainer. After serving his country in the Navy, he started his career with IBM. Richard retired from IBM after 40 years of service. Richard loved the outdoors; he enjoyed fishing; was involved in the boy scouts and girl scouts; and involved in the LaGrange Amateur Radio Club. He never meet a stranger and made many friendships through the years. Richard was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and great- grandfather.

Richard is survived by his wife of 67 years, Shirley Lee Mast Trainer; daughter Becky Warren (Joe); daughter Mary Lou Scarberry; daughter Rhonda West; son Tim Trainer (Lisa); son Jerry Trainer (Angela); daughter Amy Brown (Jim); and brother, George Trainer.

Richard was preceded in death by his father Roy Trainer and mother Frances Triplett Trainer; sister Jean Smith; brother Russell Trainer; brother Donald Trainer and brother Gary Trainer.

At his time of death he had 13 grandchildren,16 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
