I can see that it is more than 10 years since Bob died, and I am just learned of it.  I am so sorry for the family.  Bob was  a friend during high school in Bayonne, and when I was the editor of the school yearbook, he was our top-notch photographer.  That skill began early, and  he always did it well.  He was also an all-around kind, funny, and reliable friend to so many of us.  In a school as big as BHS -- at that time we had over 800 grads a year -- he stood out as a special classmate.  As you can see, even more than 50 years later, he is remembered fondly and for the good he brought to the world.

Bob was a friend to me in my late teens/early 20’s when I was studying photography at JCNJ (now City University of NJ).  Bob was so helpful when I went into the photo store (pre-digital days), always taking the time to look at my photos, help explain this film or that lens, etc.  We remained friends for several years but ultimately lost touch. Karen and family, I’m so sorry to read of Bob’s passing, already 9 years ago.  (Just read now for the first time.)  wishing you peace always.

Just the other day I was telling someone about Bob's first Halloween in Scottsdale - he totally scared my little grandson with his snorkel mask, tux, flippers and violin playing!!!!  And then-----he absolutely amazed a lot of the neighbors that New Year's Eve when he jumped into our swimming pool!!!!!!  We have very fond memories of him!  We are very sorry for your loss; please know we are thinking of you and yours.

dear karen, judy and myself are sorry for your loss. we are happy that we were part of you and bob's life while you lived in arizona. personally speaking i missed not seeing bob in the garage as i usually stopped by after my bike rides, the house was not the same when you left. we send our condolences and prayer's.

Dear Karen, My fondest memories of Bob are of him sitting around the campfire, strumming away on his banjo.  He would start out hesitantly, and then launch into a great bluegrass tune.  Or he would smile as he played accompaniment to Brad or John's guitar playing. His banjo was as bright and colorful as his personality!  He will be dearly missed and never forgotten.  Warmest sympathies to you and your family.  We love and miss you.

Bob was and is my best friend, long distance or not. Met Bob and Karen in Scottsdale AZ when they moved into a house across the street. I met Bob over a mailbox. My RV gate opened across from their driveway. In order to back my RV into my yard through the gate I needed to pull into their driveway and then by turning and twisting I was able to back in. Never was a problem with previous owners. There was a mailbox along the driveway but it was on the other side out of the way. One hot summer day I was attempting to back our boat in as usual and was having a harder time then usual. Then I saw the problem. The mailbox had been moved to the other side of the driveway and it made it more difficult for me so I didn't hit it. While I was doing all this Bob came out of the house, walked up to me and said " I moved the mailbox". Then he went back inside. After I had finished backing in and was unhitching the boat he came over and said "there is a reason why I needed to move the mailbox". I was thinking "yeah so you wouldn't have to walk the extra 10 feet to get your mail". He said " George his ailing father-in-law lived with them and he looked forward to going out and getting the mail everyday and with the mailbox on the other side he could not see when the flag was up, so I needed to move it". I thought a minute and said "that makes alot of sense". We didn't say much for a minute or so and then he said "want a cold beer?" I said "sure do". We went over to his garage, pulled out a couple of chairs, sat in the hot sun,drank more than 1 beer and became friends. Will think of you everytime I hear a banjo or see a mailbox.

Karen, you are my very dear friend and I am suffering for your loss.  Bob was Bob. Always willing to help, always contemplating something, and always enjoying himself!  He was such a wonderful friend and we will miss him very much. I will miss the phone call and singing on my birthday. I will miss him telling me about the new song he is working on.
 
We loved visiting your home in N.J. because Bob is the best tour guide out there!  We had so much fun! He took us everywhere!  When I think of the times we had together what wonderful memories they are!  And lots of them!

Dear Karen, I look back fondly on our Costa Rica trip and the times I've had the pleasure of seeing you and Bob since then. When I met you and Bob, I thought to myself how lucky the both of you were to have found such great life partners. I found Bob to be funny, kind, and just awesome to be around. Karen, I am so very sorry for your loss.  I will always fondly remember our wonderful visit to your lovely home in Kennesaw, and waking to the sounds of Bob's banjo playing.  He was a gentle soul.
