Roddy Jordan

Roddy Jordan, of Kennesaw, passed away on his 78th birthday, Saturday, June 16, 2012. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw beginning at 1pm with Pastor Brian Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Rolling Hills Memory Gardens in Acworth.

Mr. Jordan was born in Covington, GA and was retired from the Mead Packaging Corporation. After retiring in 1994 he enjoyed being outdoors either gardening or just sitting on the porch. Mr. Jordan was a hard worker and instilled those values to whomever he met. “Once a Marine, always a Marine” could best describe Mr. Jordan and he was very proud of his service to our country. He loved his family and he will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and friend to all who knew him. Roddy was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Joan, in 2001.

Survivors include his children - Rhonda and husband Raymond Bowar, and Synthia Garner and husband David Grier; grandchildren - Katie and husband Justin Randolph, Tyler Garner, and Jordan Garner.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Calvary Children’s Home, 1430 Lost Mountain Road, Powder Springs, GA 30127. The family will be receiving friends on Monday, June 18, between the hours of 6pm – 8pm at the funeral home.
