Ronald Elton Thaggard

Ronald Elton Thaggard, a beloved and cherished resident of Acworth, Georgia, passed away on October 30, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on December 20, 1946, Ronald was known for his compassionate, devoted, hard-working, and selfless nature.

Ronald dedicated over 30 years of his life to the Atlanta Fire Department, where he made a significant impact through his service. His career was marked by dedication and a strong sense of duty, traits that he carried into all aspects of his life.

Beyond his professional achievements, Ronald had a deep love for fishing, hunting, and his family (and Diet Pepsi). These personal interests were a testament to his appreciation for nature and the joy he found in the company of loved ones.

He is survived by his daughters, Misty Brookshire, Kim Goodwin (Eddie), son, Mike Thaggard (Christy); granddaughters, Jessica, Amber, Haley, Katie (Jacob), Alexa, and Sydney; grandsons, Sawyer, Justin (Taylor), and Jamie; great granddaughters, Riley and Emberlyn; great grandsons, Gunner, Lewis Cole, and Colter; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Ronald was preceded in death by his wife, Robin Thaggard; daughter, Melissa Thaggard; son, Michael Brookshire; and grandson-in-law Cole Letson.

A Graveside Celebration of Life will be held in his honor at Rolling Hills Memory Gardens, located at 4355 GA-92, Acworth, GA 30102. The service will take place on November 5, 2025, at 1:00 pm.

Ronald’s memory will continue to be cherished by all who knew him.
