Ronita Brooks, born Worley, was a 1983 Etowah High School graduate. After graduating from high school she started into a series of public service jobs. She was one of the first female firefighters in Cherokee County, an EMT, and a 911 dispatcher for the city of Kennesaw, GA. She was working as a dispatcher for the former Gold Cross Ambulance Service when she met her husband Kenneth Brooks.
Her employment continued as a warehouse dispatcher for a local interior design company and lastly a customer service representative for a local utility company. She also enjoyed singing with the choir at Awtrey-Westwood Baptist Church and working with local youth. Her biggest joys in her life were her two daughters and three grandsons. Ronita enjoyed watching movies,and working on her scrape books. She was a very giving and caring person. Ronita loved spending time in the mountains and making people laugh. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt and friend. Ronita will be loved and missed by all that knew her.
Ronita is survived by her husband, Kenn Brooks; daughters, Brandee Hughes; Micenna Brooks; and son-in-law Doug Hughes; father Thomas Worley; brothers, Robbie Worley, Kyle Worley, sister Tara Worley, sister-in-laws Brenda and Christie Worley; grandsons Dawson, Cohen and Tallon Hughes.
Ronita was preceded in death by; mother Shirley Worley. A memorial service will be held at Awtrey Westwood Baptist Church, Acworth Georgia, at 2 PM Sunday January 27, 2019.
