Sandra Ballew

Sandra Joan Ballew, also fondly known as Sandy, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at the age of 54, while at Cartersville Medical Hospital in Cartersville, GA. Sandy was born in Austell, GA, on November 2, 1957, the daughter of the late Elaine and Phillip Baker. She was married for over 36 years to her devoted and loving husband, James "Blu" Ballew.

She is survived by her husband and her only child, Thomas “Adam” Ballew, and his wife, Sara. She leaves behind two grandchildren, Connor and Reese Ballew. She is further survived by her sisters, Sheila Lawson and Phyllis Rowell, and her brother, Phillip Baker.

Sandy was tenderhearted, generous, and loyal and will be missed dearly by all of her friends and family. She was also a fighter, most recently proven during her extended hospitalization before her passing. She enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, and her pets Harley and Suzie.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 27th, at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw, GA, with Reverend Ricky Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends at Winkenhofer on May 25th and May 26th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and prior to the funeral services May 27th.
