Sarah “Sally” Elizabeth Conrad of Acworth, GA passed away on March 6, 2025, at the age of 81. She was born on February 28, 1944, in Warren, Pennsylvania to Gilbert Buerkle and Mary Ellen Smith Buerkle who have since passed.
Sarah graduated with a bachelor’s degree in nursing and dedicated her life to helping people and children at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
She was actively involved in shopping and anything that was teal. “The Teal Lady” accumulated several hundred pounds of beach glass over the years while traveling. Sally also was very active in the Drum Corps International events as well as golf. She loved spending her summers in Chautauqua, New York. The only thing more important than any of that was her love for her family. Her family history was very important to her, and she has passed down through the love of her family to her children and grandchildren.
Sally is survived by her husband of 31 years Fred Conrad, whom she took a special trip to Paris to show her love for Fred but also of God. She is also survived by her children, Douglas (Suzanne) Burgett, Deborah (Chris) Salmon, Steve (Stephanie) Conrad, Stephanie (Pete) Lain; grandchildren, Lauren Reed, Nick Glickman, James Burgett, Thomas Burgett, Donovan Salmon, Bryson Conad, Colton Conrad, Madeline Salmon, and Katie Salmon; great grandchildren, Liam Reed, Colten Reed, and Olivia Reed; and siblings Cindy Zemlin (Lucinda Lee) and Randall Buerkle.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home on Saturday, March 22nd. at 1:00 PM. Visitation with the family will begin at 11:00 AM and continue until service time.
