Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Turner, age 95, of Cartersville, GA., passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018. Mrs. Turner was born on May 25, 1923, a daughter of the late Samuel Andrew Smith and Willie Mae Smith.

Sarah spent most of her adult life in the Cobb County area and later moved to Cartersville to be closer to her family. For several years, Sarah was a seamstress for the Army and Navy, later to own a tailoring business. A firm believer in Jesus Christ, Sarah was a devout member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Cartersville. Some of her favorite hobbies included cooking and sewing. She was married to the love of her life, Mr. Paul Thomas Turner for thirty-nine wonderful years; and the two shared countless memories together. Though her hobbies and career were her important to her, Sarah’s greatest joy came from being a mother and grandmother. Sarah was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend; she will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Along with her parents, Sarah is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Turner and several siblings.

She is survived by her two children, Donald Wilson, wife Pat of Marietta, GA., and Karen Lee, husband Roy, of White, GA.; one brother, Auborn Smith; two grandchildren, Chris McClure and Savannah Lee; three great-grandchildren, Michael McClure, Brittny McClure, and Breanne McClure; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends also survive.

A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Sarah Turner will be held at one o’clock in the afternoon on Monday, September 17, 2018 in the Chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home with Rev. Clinton Green officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery.

A visitation with the family will be held from five o’clock in the afternoon until eight on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen have been requested to serve as pallbearers, Chris McClure, Michael McClure, Keith Dempsey, Andy Smith, Bruce McClure, and Emmett ‘Skip’ Smith.
