

Sky was born on August 18, 1978, in Macon, Georgia. He was a 1997 graduate of Cass High School and an honors graduate of ITT Technical Institute where he earned a degree in graphic design. Soon after high school, Sky worked in the oil rigs of Louisiana, then joined the Air Force in 2001. After serving four years as a military firefighter in Washington State, Sky relocated to Germany for a year before returning to the States. In 2016, he started a small business, the American Renegade Beard Oil Company. Most recently, he was employed at DECS Childcare Center where he was a favorite staff member, filling in as a cook, affectionately called Mr. Cookie by the children.
He is survived by his parents Rosemarie “Rose” Chastain and Patrick “Pat” Chastain, daughter Gabby Burdette, sisters Melanie Moore and Cyndi Tufts, life partner Julie Reynolds and her children Marie and Anthony, and their fur babies Mia, Autumn, Dallas, and Lyliah. Sky leaves behind many friends and relatives who cared about him dearly.
Sky had many talents, including guitar playing, drawing, and photography. Sky was a dedicated pet rescue volunteer, fostering many shelter dogs over the years, finding them furever homes. In August 2021, Sky co-founded a small foster-based rescue organization with Julie, which they named Amazing Mutts and Wiggle Butts.
The funeral service will be held on February 17, 2022, at 11:30AM, at the National Veteran’s Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. To be part of the procession, please meet at 9:30AM at the parking lot of WInkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home (2950 North Cobb Parkway, Kennesaw).
