He was born on December 20, 1941 to the late Mark and Ellen Mitchell in McCaysville, GA
In 1959, Gene moved from McCaysville, GA to Kennesaw, GA. There he met Betty Ann Priest,
and on June 10, 1961, they were married. They enjoyed spending time together. Gene loved hunting,
fishing, and spending time with his family. He enjoyed gardening since he was a child, tending his gardens as well as other people's gardens. He also enjoyed collecting and restoring old farm tractors. He was always ready to help a friend in need. A loving father, kind-hearted and giving. He was a quiet man, but he always put a smile of everyone's face.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Charles Edward Mitchell of Blue Ridge GA.
and Carl Edwin Mitchell of Kennesaw GA.
Gene is survived by wife, Betty Ann Mitchell, daughters, Penny(Jeff)Travis and Angela Wright,
son, Cotey Lee Eugene Mitchell: sister, Billie Mildred Hancock: sister-in-law, Frances Mitchell:
grandchildren, Dianna (Michael) Allen, Joseph (Autumn) Travis, Jeremy Travis, and Brandon Ansardi;
Kylee Ann Mitchell; great grandchildren, Landon Travis, Mayla Travis, Carter Allen, Carlynn Allen,,
Carleigh Allen, Mason Travis, and many loving extended family and friends.
A funeral service to honor Mr Theodore Eugene "Gene" Mitchell will be held on Saturday,
December 14, 2019 at twelve o'clock in the afternoon at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends for visitation between four o'clock and eight o'clock in the evening
on Friday December 13, 2019 and two hours before the service on Saturday. He will be laid to rest
