I am truly sorry for your loss. I will miss driving a bus with him out of Big Shanty,Travis will truly be missed. My heart and prayers are with you.

To the family of Travis Payne. My name is Herb Hendrix. I am the father of Nancy and Herb, jr. and the ex husband of Pat.
I have thouoght of Travis often. When I had a near fatal accident in 1958 and had many ribs broken and breathng problems, Travis, always the joker) came to my bedside at Kennestone Hospital and kept me in stiches long enough to cough up the blockage in my lungs. I wrote him later and told him he had saved my lif. I still believe that. My brother Paul who died young also thought the world of Travis. I realize the entire family is in mourning, but I didn't want to miss this opportunity to express my condolences and pray that his soul will rest in peace forever.  Herb

I am so saddened to hear about Travis.  I met him in 1985 when I went to work for Consolidated Freightways in Mableton, GA.  He was truly one of the "good guys". Always happy, always smiling. I will never forget seeing Travis dressed up as Santa Claus, while we all took pictures at SSU, and all the beautiful flowers he would send you on your anniversary, or how he would call up to the office and ask me, "Is my bride there?" What a wonderful life you all have shared with Travis. I am sorry for your loss. I know what a void you will feel, not only today but throughout the coming years. Things will remind you lovingly of him and you'll wish you could just at least talk to him. You will be sad and angry at times, yet desparately will learn to cherish and embrace all the memories of the good times. He was blessed to be surrounded by such loving women. And, you were blessed to know such a wonderful, giving person. I know you thought the remote and recliner were his favorite, but I am sure you are his true treasures. Much love to you both.

My heart goes out to both of you.  I know how much Travis was a part of your life and how much you will miss him, but take heart in the thought of knowing you now have a very, very special guardian angel watching over and protecting both of you.  He will be with you always in your heart and soul and even though you can't see him in this life, know that he watches over you, hears you, and knows all the love that both of you have for him.
