Mr. Prestwood was my Zoology Teacher at NC back in 2007. He was a great teacher and still had a knack for learning as much as he taught. He had a great sense of humor. Even though it's been a few years of his passing I hope that his family is doing well and know that he touched many lives. My condolences!

Although our acquaintance was short, we have the fondest memories of the times we spent with Travis and Karen.   From the times we spent together on board the cruise ship to the few days  we spent with them at their cabin in New Mexico.   He spoke of his faith in Jesus and I know that one day soon we will renew our acquaintance in Glory.   

I would like to offer my prayers and condolences to the Prestwood family. Travis was my mentor teacher when I first started teaching at North Cobb. He was a kind hearted person with a love for helping young people grow. I know he loved his family very much from the stories he would tell about their adventures and travels. I will never forgot those stories. God bless you Travis and peace be with your family in this difficult time. 

Dear Karen, Miles, and Ried. You may or may not remember me, but I helped take care of you two boys when you were in Day Care at The Gingerbread House. It was a pleasure to watch you two grow up over the years and I believe it was you, Miles, that went to school with my son, Chris Evans, at Woodland. I was so sorry to hear of Mr. Prestwood's passing. I definitely remember your family and will be praying for you and your loss. May   you feel God's peace surround you in the days ahead.


I had Mr. Prescott for Biology at North Cobb HS. He loved to teach! Such a cool teacher! He will be highly missed! RIP. 

It was an honor to know Travis, personally and professionally, at North Cobb.  He related well to his students prompting them to respect him in turn.  It was always a pleasure to interact with such a Christian gentleman,  a solid science teacher, and friend.  Let’s not forget, Travis’ role (as a church leader on stage) in the movie FOOT LOOSE, filmed at the Acworth Presbyterian Church, a few years back.  Travis “fought the good fight of faith and has laid hold of eternal life” (1Timothy 6:12).  Karen, Olivia and I are praying for you.  Richard D. Goodwin

Have known Travis for many years. Have found memories of our time with BSA troop 95. Weather it be spelunking or rock climbing at Rock Town. It was always a good adventure. He was a good man and will be missed by many. RIP Travis Prestwood.


Travis is the best friend I ever had.  I will miss him.

My husband and I met Travis and Karen barely 10 years ago and love them as true, lifelong friends.  Travis won my heart because of his interest in my grandchildren.  He was always asking about them and asking us to bring them over to visit.  When I showed an interest in something like the jewelry he made or a trinket in his home, the next thing I knew he was offering it to me as a gift.  Our visits to their home in New Mexico were true adventures with stories and legends and never a dull moment.  I will always cherish my memories of a wonderful friend.  Love you Travis and Karen 

Travis was a great co-worker. An outstanding teacher and friend.  Travis was always a great calming factor. His demeanor never changed, it was so even keel. No matter what was going on, he was always on the same level-- never anxious or depressed.  Those students who had him as a teacher and we teachers who had him as a friend were all truly blessed. 

One of my favorite teachers.  I had him for Biology & Mrs. Prestwood for Math the same semester one year at North Cobb.

I knew hospice had stepped in a few days ago but I was not prepared to hear that this dear friend passed away. I loved his adventures! Karen and Travis have been together for so many decades. I hope you will join me in praying for Karen‘s new life without Travis by her side. Travis was not just the head of my science department at North Cobb but also a dear friend. Even after I quit work to be a stay at home mom Karen and Travis would make the hour and a half drive to Grayson to come to our children’s birthday parties.  Through the years Karen would include a Christmas letter of their yearly family news in her Christmas card. Then Facebook was developed and we kept up that way. When I took an African Safari I brought back some tea as a souvenir.  I shared some African tea with Travis and he shared his favorite African tea with me.  As most people know Karen and Travis were  both missionaries in Africa.  I believe they were in Tanzania. 
I will miss you Travis!  Karen I will be lifting you up in my daily prayer ! 🙏✝️
