Vickie Lee Bennett

Mrs. Vickie Lee Bennett, age 67, of Kennesaw, GA, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018. Vicki was born on December 19, 1950 in Atlanta, Georgia, a daughter to the late Ralph E. O’Kelley and Annie Louise O’Kelley.

Vickie spent all of her life in the North Atlanta area. Her working career began as a Telephone Operator for AT&T. It was at AT&T where she met the love of her life, Joe Bennett. The two married shortly after meeting and began their beautiful love story; creating countless memories and building a home for their three boys. There were many attributes that defined who Vickie was, however, her greatest accomplishment and joy came from being a wife to Joe and a mother to her three boys. Her love for her family was as strong as she was and her kindness to those she loved was remarkable. Vickie eventually went on to spend the remainder of her working career as a Mortgage Underwriter. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and watching Georgia football and her stories.

Vickie was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend; she will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Along with her parents Vickie is preceded in death by one sister, Linda Mcelhannon.

She is survived by her husband of forty-eight years, Joe Bennett; three sons, Joe Bennett Jr., wife Andrea of Acworth, GA, Chris Bennett, wife Shannon of Wayne, Maine, and Kelly Bennett, wife Leanna of Durango, Colorado; two siblings, Mike O’Kelley of Dallas, GA., and Ann Webb of Mayo, Florida; six grandchildren, Joe, Cecelia, Wesley, Abigail, Carter, and Jackson; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends also survive.

A memorial service to honor the life of Mrs. Vickie Lee Bennett will be held at three o’clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 in the Chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from one o’clock in the afternoon until the service hour.
