Victor LaMattina was born on March 15, 1951, in Brooklyn, New York, to Beatrice and Victor LaMattina. He was the second oldest of five children. His family later moved to Westbury, New York, where he spent his childhood and graduated from W.T. Clarke High School. After high school, Victor proudly served in the National Guard as a trainer.
In 1977, Victor married the love of his life, Angela Ferrara, and together they purchased a home in Uniondale, New York, where they built a life and raised their five daughters. A devoted provider, Victor often worked two and sometimes three jobs to ensure his family was always cared for. He was a loving, generous father who cherished his children and taught them the value of hard work, dedication, and perseverance.
Victor faithfully served the Great Neck Public School System for over 35 years as Head Custodian. Known for his remarkable work ethic, he rarely missed a day and took great pride in his job. He retired in 2013 and moved to Acworth, Georgia, to be closer to his six beloved grandchildren. There, he purchased the home he had always dreamed of, a place that quickly became a welcoming haven for family gatherings and treasured memories.
Victor will be remembered for his warm personality, contagious laugh, and endless stories, especially those about his cherished pets, his coworkers, his adventurous youth, and his beloved New York Yankees. He loved hosting Christmas Eve gatherings and created countless joyful memories for his family. Above all, Victor valued family and always encouraged everyone to remain close, loving, and supportive of one another. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
Victor was predeceased by his beloved wife, Angela LaMattina, and his sister, Betty Jane LaMattina. He is survived by his daughters, Sherri-Ann Adelsky (Scott), Valerie Santana (Omar), Michelle LaMattina, Dawn Meriam (Chris), and Jennifer LaMattina; his cherished grandchildren, Nicholas, Christopher, Vincent, Scarlett, Aria, and Nathan; his step-granddaughter, Jessica Meriam; his loving siblings, Michael, Patty, and Carol; and many devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
