Walter "Walt" Preast Sr.

.Mr. Walter E. “Walt” Preast Sr. age 86 of Kennesaw, GA. Born Dec 30, 1928 in Cherokee County, GA., passed February 4, 2015. Funeral services will be held 3 pm Sunday at Elizabeth Baptist Church in Marietta. He will lie in state at the church from 2 till 3 pm. Rev. Adrian Coetzer officiating with Interment at Pine Ridge Memorial Park.

He is preceded in death by his father Sam Preast, mother Mae Preast brother Wallace Preast. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Christine Brackett Preast, Daughter Cathy P. Hendrix, 2 sons Eddie (Barbra) Preast, Sam ( Gail ) Preast, Brother James Preast, and sister Dorothy Wilkins. 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. Walt was active in the Boy Scout troop 133 of Kennesaw as a Scout Master. He was a deacon and 65 year member at Elizabeth Baptist Church where he served on many committees. Walt loved tending his garden and trout fishing in his beloved Kellum Valley. Walt was the happiest working outdoors in the construction industry. He was a self-employed landscaper for many years and then worked at Carter and Sons Grading for several years as a heavy equipment operator.
