Warren Steve Goff Sr. (“Steve”), age 84, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026. Born on March 4, 1942, in Ashburn, Georgia, to the late Warren and Kathleen Goff, Steve lived a rich, meaningful life defined by steady devotion to his faith, his career, and above all, his family.
Steve grew up in Macon, Georgia, where he graduated from Lanier High School. As a teenager at church, he met the absolute love of his life, Linda Yarbrough. The two shared a beautiful marriage spanning 57 wonderful years until her passing in 2021. Together, they built a life anchored in faith, laughter, and an ever-growing family.
Steve dedicated his professional life to Winn-Dixie, starting as an ambitious bag boy and steadily earning his way to store manager. In 1977, he relocated with his family to Marietta, Georgia, after being promoted to Scanning Director for the Southeast region—a career of hard work and integrity that earned him the respect of all who worked with him.
Outside of work, Steve was happiest on the water fishing and boating, or quietly settled into a good book. His faith was central to everything he did; he was an active and devoted member of Macland Baptist Church in Powder Springs, where he poured his heart into Sunday school and church life. Above all titles, Steve was most proud of being “Granddaddy.” In his later years, nothing brought him more joy than time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, even developing an unexpected fondness for PAW Patrol and Bluey while keeping them company.
Steve was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda, and his parents, Warren and Kathleen Goff.
His loving legacy continues through his children: Penny Leigh Lawing (Chip), Warren Steve Goff Jr., and Julie Goff Snipes (Chan); his cherished grandchildren: Clint Lawing (Chelsea), Kaylie Poole (Hunter), Jake Lawing (Lindsey), Austin Goff, Carson Snipes, and Casey Snipes; and his adored great-grandchildren: Obadiah, Tobias, Emory, Roan, and Carleigh Jo. He also leaves behind his devoted sisters, Carolyn Tomberlin (Johnny) and Brenda Faye Peacock (late Johnny), along with many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, GA 30152, US, on September 4, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Memorial Service at the same location on September 4, 2026, at 11:00 am.
A Committal Service will take place at Kennesaw Memorial Park, 1306 Whitlock Ave, Marietta, GA 30064, US, on September 4, 2026.
