William “Andy” Anderson, 93, of Acworth, died Tuesday, July 12, 2016. Funeral is Saturday, July 16, 1pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw with Pastor Chuck Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Pineridge Memorial Park.
Mr. Anderson, a member of the “Great Generation”, served our country honorably during WWII in the U.S. Army under General Patton. He was with all the brave men who stormed Normandy. After the war Mr. Anderson, a mechanic, worked for Barron Buick as the Service Manager and Kirkpatrick Construction. Once he retired Andy still used his mechanical skills working on lawn mowers and in his spare time enjoyed fishing. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Glade Road Baptist Church.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his children – Daniel Anderson, Bobby Anderson, Brenda Anderson, and John Anderson; siblings - Annie Mae Anderson Smith, Ruth Ann Aderholt, and Hershel Anderson; his dear friends – Mike Fields and Charles & Cheryl Terry. Pallbearers are - Mike Fields, Aaron Plumley, Jeromy Fuller, Austin Fuller, Randy Day, Mike Davids, and Charles Terry.
Family is receiving friends on Saturday beginning at 11am until service time.
