Buddy was a native to Kennesaw Georgia. Throughout his whole life, he grew up and lived in the same area. He graduated from Acworth High School and shortly after, started working at Strand Theatre in Marietta Georgia. This is where he met a woman by the name of Betty Davis. In 1951 they became married for the next eighteen years. In 1976, he met Martha Galt and remained married until her passing in 2011.
Buddy was a devout Christian and instilled this trait into his children. He was a great provider and very proud of his family. Buddy was also a very caring man who always was there for anyone who needed help. He was always giving back to the community through any work that he possibly could. Through all of this, Buddy remained very humble in nature. He also served as a comptroller in the United States Air Force and retired as a Lieutenant colonel after thirty eight years of honorable service. He was awarded many medals for his services and was proud of his accomplishments.
Along with his parents and his wife, he is preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Underwood Curtis. He is survived by his daughters, Judy Galt, Joann (Richard) Gillman, Jill (Mark) Murphy, and Denise (Faribourz) Bastanpour; grandchildren, Mark Edward Ellis, Brandy Lampton, Tyler Barnett, Tristan Murphy, Teryn Murphy, Melissa Bastanpour, and Jason Bastanpour, and great grandchildren, Madelyne Ellis, Cooper Bastanpour and Olivia Bastanpour.
A funeral service will be held at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, Georgia 30152, on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at two o’clock in the afternoon. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 24, 2018 from six o’clock in the evening until eight o’clock in the evening and on Sunday, November 25th, 2018 one hour prior to the service.
