William Butler Rickles, 88, of Kennesaw, GA went home to be with the Lord on September 6, 2023 in Woodstock, GA. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at Mount Paran North Church; 1700 Allgood Road NE, Marietta, GA 30062 at 2:00 p.m. Bill’s family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. for a time of visitation. The service will be followed by a private burial. Pastor Kirk Walters will officiate.
Bill was born in Griffin, GA to Mildred and Hosea Rickles. In Griffin, he met his precious wife, Barbara Anne Williams, affectionately known as Bobbie. The couple married on June 13, 1954 and enjoyed 54 beautiful years of marriage. Bill served as a medic in the United States Army from 1953-1956 and the Air Force from 1956-1964, earning the rank of Staff Sergeant. After serving his country, Bill worked for most of his career as a pharmaceutical sales representative. He also spent many years driving a school bus with his sweet wife as his bus monitor. Bill and Bobbie were devoted followers of Jesus and longtime members of Mount Paran North, where he served as an Elder.
Bill was a devoted family man, beginning each day on his knees in prayer for his beloved family. He and Bobbie loved packing up their “motor home” and traveling the country with their children and grandchildren. He was always happiest surrounded by family. He loved to laugh and could be counted on for a good joke!
Bill is survived by his children Pam Leonard (Gary), Dan Rickles (Delicia), and Scott Rickles (Rocio); his grandchildren Anna Willoughby (BJ), Sara Farmer, Justin Rickles (Dwan), Courtney Baker (Josh), Matt Rickles, and Leah Carrillo (Bryan); and great-grandchildren Jacob Willoughby, Cohen Farmer, and William and Tori Rickles.
Bill was preceded in death by his precious wife, Barbara Anne Rickles.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mount Paran North Church where Bill served and worshiped with his family.
