

William “Bill” Thomas Turner, a God-fearing, loving, hard-working, and forthright man, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on January 13, 1937, in Akron, Ohio, Bill was a long-time resident of Kennesaw, Georgia.
Bill earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering and proudly served his country in the United States Army until his honorable discharge. His career spanned work with Bell Helicopter, Bausch + Lomb, and Fisher Scientific, from which he retired.
He was married for 25 years to his best friend and the love of his life, Luvania Turner, until her passing. Bill enjoyed many hobbies, including fishing, hunting, trapping for pelts, woodworking, and spending time outdoors. In his younger years, he also loved boating and snow skiing and even served as a ski patrol. Above all, he cherished time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A devoted member of Wildwood Baptist Church, Bill faithfully served as a Sunday School Leader for over 20 years. He was also a proud member of VFW Post #5408 and American Legion Post #400.
Bill is survived by his daughters, Tammy Sutton and her husband Bobby, and Sharon Whitmore fiance' John W. Ross; sons, Tim Whitmore and his wife Terry, William T. Turner Jr., and his wife Denise, and Richard DeVissor and his wife Wanda; grandchildren, John Turner and his former wife Mary, Chris Sutton and his wife Amber, Kimberly Jewett and her husband Tyler (TJ), Harrison Whitmore, Claudia Goettel, Justin Sargent, Julie Sargent Williamson and her husband Mitch, and Alex Turner; numerous great-grandchildren; and his beloved, faithful four legged companion, Thor. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Luvania Turner; daughter, Cindy Sargent; and parents, William and Leona Turner.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Parkway, Kennesaw, GA 30152. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Pine Ridge Memorial Park, 2950 Cobb Parkway North, Kennesaw, GA 30152, at 12:00 p.m. A reception will follow at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home and Memorial Park at 1:00 p.m.
