Willie Chastain, 95, of Kennesaw, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2011. Funeral service will be held Friday, May 6, 11am at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw with Chaplain Bill Allen officiating, burial will follow at Rolling Hills Memory Gardens in Acworth.
Mrs. Chastain was preceded in death by her husband – Troy Chastain, Sr. and her daughter – Elizabeth Franklin. She was a longtime member of Greers Chapel Baptist Church and while there she loved to travel with the Chapel Gongs. Being a homemaker also included being a great cook but Mrs. Chastain also enjoyed her employment with Marietta Hosiery as a seamstress. She will be remembered by her family and friends as a good mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Those who survive Mrs. Chastain are her daughter – Joan Wehunt of Kennesaw; sons – Troy Chastain, Jr. of Dallas, Ga and Bill Chastain of Acworth; sister – Tinnie Wise of Cartersville; 4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday, May 5, from 4pm-9pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Ross Memorial Auxiliary, 1780 old hwy 41, Kennesaw, Ga 30152.
