With broken hearts we would like to announce the sudden passing of Brian Djerwood Kardal on Tuesday, September 10, 2019.
Brian was born and raised in Kenora, Ontario on January 2, 1964 to Pauline and Arnold Kardal. He attended CJ Rabbit Lake, Valleyview & Beaver Brae. In 1994 Brian obtained his Grade 12 diploma alongside his wife Shelley.
Brian never stood still and worked at the Kenora Airport, Ministry of Transportation, Wolframes, ICG and Superior Propane. In 2001, Brian settled into early retirement doing what he enjoyed most, maintaining his home, immaculate yard, completing “Shelley’s honey do list”, creating wood projects and helping others.
On Dec. 11, 1982 Brian married the love of his life, Shelley Bye. He loved each and every one of his children with all of his heart, Ashley (Mitch St. Onge), D’Andre and Carmen, Rebecca (Jamie Doucette), Lucas, Brody and Jack, Ryan (Intan Agoes) and Natalya, Adrianna, Shakira, Alanda and Cheyanne, whom he loved as his own, also many extended children over the years.
Papa's daycare was always open. Also left to cherish his memory are; his mother Pauline Zroback, sister Debbie (Lyle Roulston), Tiffany and Jamie, Arnold (Diane), Jennifer (Donald) Amanda (James), Douglas (Kara), Jourdan and Douglas, Cindy (David Wilkinson), Jacob and Nathan, in laws Milton and Wilma Bye, Clayton (Hayden, Jackson and McKenna), Brenda, Tanya (Gerry McArthur), Crystal (Leif Bergman), Tara (Shawn Halley), Mike (Debby), Christopher & Krista, Stephanie and Pierre, Cholette-Julian and Vanessa.
Predeceased by his father Arnold Kardal, stepfather Robert Moodie, very special Aunty Carey Zroback and Uncle Ernest Burgess.
Brian leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, special friends David and Merlyn Wilcox, Brenda & David, Kantola & Max, Paula and Pat James and Rebecca Sharples (Bob Doucette).
An immediate family visitation will take place on Saturday, Sept 14th, 2019 at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Brian loved his family, friends and the great outdoors.
A Celebration of his Life will take place at his home at 961 Airport Road on Sunday, September 15, 2019. Brian loved a good fish fry which he had been planning the day he passed. We will honor this on the 15th from 2:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
Brian spent his final summer fishing, camping and travelling, with Shelley and their grandchildren. He was so excited and looking forward to greeting his newest grandchild this coming spring.
In Brian’s words-“Always say I love you when you leave or go to sleep” and “see you all in the morgen.”
