June 2, 1927 – February 26, 2026
Kenora, Ontario
It is with deep love and heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Nana, Cathy Foster on February 26, 2026. She is now reunited with her cherished husband Cecil, dear son Greg and her beloved daughter Carol, all of whom predeceased her.
Cathy also leaves behind her sister Patsy Beaucage and daughter-in-law Patti Foster.
Nana was the heart of our family, steady, loving and always there with quiet strength and warmth. She leaves behind her treasured grandchildren Robyn Favreau (Dennis), Ryan Foster (Ashley), Jaime Foster (Ryan) and Sasha Foster. She was a proud and devoted great-grandmother to Hannah, Hudson, Finlee and Kaia, who brought her endless joy and smiles. She is also lovingly remembered by her best friend Pat Foster, who remained an important part of her life.
Nana shared a very special bond with her nephew Warren and his wife Barb Creed, and treasured her connection with their children Garret (Lindy), Chase (Ashley) and their beautiful children with whom she shared a deep special bond. Cathy had a deep connection with all of her nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.
She was also blessed with special friends Rick and Marilyn Strain, whose kindness and companionship brought her great comfort and joy.
The family is deeply grateful to the wonderful staff of Pinecrest Home for their kindness and care.
Nana found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She rarely missed watching curling, hockey, or golf, cheering from her favourite chair as if she were right there at the rink or on the course.
She especially looked forward to her weekly coffee dates with her close friends, a time with laughter and stories. She had a gift for sewing and knitting, creating beautiful handmade pieces that will continue to warm both bodies and hearts for years to come. Every stitch made was filled with love.
Her home was a place of comfort, her presence a source of reassurance, and her love a constant on our lives. Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for many memories, lessons, and traditions she leaves behind.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
As per her wishes, there will be no formal service. She preferred to be remembered privately by those who loved her. The family encourages you to remember her in your own special way.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Lake of the Woods District Hospital.
