

Charles Henry TyrrellCelebration of LifeFriday, January 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m.Brown Funeral Home & Cremation CentreWith deep sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Chuck Tyrrell, atthe Lake of the Woods District Hospital on Thursday, January 21, 2010 with sonChuck Jr., grandchildren Halle and Alex, and close friends at his side.Chuck was born December 15, 1938 in Toronto, Ontario to Arthur and Dorothy Tyrrell, growing up in a family of eightbrothers and sisters.He leaves to mourn son Chuck Jr., daughter Jeannie,granddaughters Halle, Alexis and Madison and grandson Alex Frost. He is survived by brothers Richard and James, and sisters Mary, Helen and Elanor.Dad was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Dorothy,brothers David and Robert, and sister Doreen.Growing up in Toronto, Chuck worked at Dempsters Bread Company and then went on to manage an auto body shop. Moving to Kenora in 1977, he worked at Kantola Motors, then went on to open his own business in the glass industry. It wasn’t long before Chuck became known as “ The King of Glass”; a business heoperated for over 32 years.Chuck believed in the well being of his community, servingseveral terms on Kenora Council, the Police Commission, as well as the West Kenora District Housing Corp. His passion was politics and he always enjoyed a good debate.Dad truly loved living in Kenora. He enjoyed many pleasurable fishing trips to Crow Rock, going hunting up north, annual tripsto Winnipeg for special events and of course going for morning coffee with the boys at Lake-Vu.The last 10 years of Dads life he struggled with health issues.His granddaughter Halle, or “Peanut” as he would say, was an inspiration to him and kept him strong.During this time, we extend a sincere Thank You to all the Doctors and Nurses, in particular the Nurses in the dialysisdepartment at Lake of the Woods District Hospital for theircompassionate care.A Celebration of Chuck’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 29, 2010 at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, with Pastor Cathy Giroux officiating. Interment to follow at a later date.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lake of the Woods District Hospital, 21 Sylvan Street, Kenora, ON P9N 3W7.Dad’s generosity was second to none.
