Pinecrest Home for the Aged
Peacefully, Cliff Kearney, a resident of Pinecrest Home for the Aged, passed away on June 4, 2010 at his residence at the age of 93 years.
Cliff was predeceased by his wife Helen, son David and daughter Linda and great granddaughter Sophia.
He is survived by his granddaughters Denise (Scott) Couke and Kathleen (Jeremy) Olsen and his great grandchildren Tanner, Logan and Jaden.
Cliff joined the army and married the love of his life, Helen in 1945 in Albershot, England. He loved to walk all through his life and also wrote poetry and sang.
He worked at the pulp and paper mill in Kenora as a machinist until his retirement in 1973.
He was well known for his letters to the editor and his poetry that was often published in the paper. Cliff and Helen loved to travel and travelled to many countries in their lifetime.
The family would like to thank Dr. Sawatzky and the nursing staff at Pinecrest Nursing Home for their loving care over the last several years.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Pinecrest Home for the Aged, with Pastor Robert Wittmeier officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pinecrest Auxiliary, 1220 Valley Drive, Kenora, ON P9N 2W7.
